Engaged Couples

Congratulations, you're engaged!  It's now time to schedule an engagement session.  Engagement sessions are a fun way to not only get to know each other better, but also serve as a way for you to get more comfortable behind the camera leading up to your big day.  Weddings can be hectic and it is my goal to already have a bond with my clients to make the day that much smoother.  I want you to have full faith in me that I will not only make your day comfortable, but you will take away images to cherish for the rest of your life.  Your photographs are an investment and therefore communication is key to ensure the best results.  Tip:  Take advantage of your engagement session by scheduling hair and make up!  This will give you the chance to see if you like what your stylist does for you or if you would like them to do something differently for your wedding day.

Keep reading for the most commonly asked questions that I can hopefully answer for you.

What are your prices?

For detailed information on my pricing and packages please visit my investment page here.  Not every situation is the same and therefore I also offer custom wedding day packages based on your specific needs.  Please send me an email here to start the conversation!

Will there be two photographers at my wedding?

It depends on your preference! Please write me for more information.

Should we see each other before the wedding to make time for more pictures?

As time and lifestyles have changed from traditional to modern, First Looks are becoming more popular.  Your photographs are an investment.  When you incorporate a First Look to your wedding day, you will get at least 40% more portraits of the two of you and you don't have to keep your guests waiting after the ceremony.  The butterflies will most likely be there all day, but with a First Look it's an opportunity to relax and have more time with your future bride/groom leading up to the ceremony.

What is your turn around time on images?

Portraits will be delivered within 2 weeks and weddings within 4-6 weeks.

How many pictures will I get?

For weddings you will get about 75 images per hour and for portraits between 20-30.

How do you edit my images?

I carefully pick through each image from your session to ensure I deliver only the best quality photographs.  All images are edited with a natural style to create timeless photographs that you will treasure for the rest of time.  I keep my editing clean and classic, as you can see throughout my work here on my website.

How do we book you?

Contact me here and let me know what you are interested in and what dates work best for you.  If you are interested in wedding coverage please send me your wedding date, venue location and I will send you more information.  On my contact page I have a link to my calendar to make things as easy as possible for you to see if I am available for your special day.  You can view my calendar here.

How do we pay you?

I accept checks, cash, and payments through Paypal (you're responsible for Paypal's 3% fee) & albums are the same.  Prints can be paid by credit card on your gallery website.

How do I secure my date?

Portraits are to be paid in full with contract and weddings require a $750 retainer fee with contract.

Do you charge sales tax?

Yes, I am required to charge sales tax.

newborn information

Fine Art Newborn Lifestyle Photographer. Shreveport Photographer

Congratulations on your newest addition to the family!  Having a child is such an exciting time.  I have found that the best time to have newborn pictures taken is within their first two weeks of life and up to one month if you did not have the time to plan a session in advance.  A newborn is only considered a newborn for about a month before they start becoming alert more often during the day. Most newborn sessions are scheduled during the week at 9AM.  I make exceptions on Saturdays if it is absolutely impossible for you to do a weekday session.  You have a choice to either have your newborn session in your home where I can take pictures of your baby in their crib ( see example right here ) or you are welcome to come to my in home studio where I have thoughtfully decorated to perfection for each photograph.  I do encourage parents & siblings (if any) to join in the portraits!  Photographing you (and your family) interacting with baby is what I like to call lifestyle photography.  It is capturing the raw and sweet moments of you in a natural element cuddling that new bundle of love, rocking baby, or simply watching them sleep.  These moments pass by so quickly and I would love the opportunity to freeze theses moments in time.  Minus the sleepless nights, I want you to remember this phase of your child's life, because it is a beautiful phase!

In order to get those precious sleepy pictures we all love, I highly recommend keeping your newborn awake from 6AM-9AM when your session begins.  Nursing or bottle feeding just before our session will ensure baby is full and sleepy baby, and allow me to capture as many photos as possible.  With that being said, I like to give my clients 20-50 images during a newborn session.  I provide all those cute little outfits for boys and girls that are custom made by a vendor I work with.  I also provide props which include buckets, baskets, backdrops, blankets, headbands, hats, etc!  If there is a family heirloom or something you would like incorporated into our session, I am happy to do so!  These are your images and I want you to be happy with the outcome of them!  I have all my props on display for you to hand select for what you like best.  After your session you will receive a sneak peek within 24 hours and final delivery of all images within 2 weeks.  They will be delivered via website gallery where you will be able to download and purchase professional prints.  If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to ask!  I look forward to meeting you and your sweet new baby!

extras - what to expect & how to prepare

I will be in contact for a final confirmation of your date, time, and location in the days leading up to your shoot.  It is best to start thinking about your wardrobe when you first book with me.  Your photos are an investment so naturally you will want to look your very best!  Plan to coordinate colors and outfits throughout the family.  This does not mean that everyone needs to wear the same thing!  Wear colors that compliment one another and that you feel good in.  For specific style ideas, follow examples from the photos provided on this page or head on over to my Pinterest account at www.pinterest.com/whitneykrenek  where you can find my photography related boards for some inspiration.  As a photographer it is my job to provide direction and posing throughout your shoot, but I will also be doing my best to capture the in between snuggles, giggles, and moments happening between poses.  I strive to capture families in their element, relaxed and happy.  Be prepared with appropriate footwear and clothing in case your feet get wet or muddy.  If the weather is just too terrible there is only so much I can do to protect my equipment and deliver beautiful images to you.  I do not like to reschedule but living in this area it happens from time to time and will not risk damaging my camera.

If you have a pose or idea in mind, speak up!  I want to work with you to create images that you will love forever.  So if there is something you are dreaming of hanging on your wall, please let me know and I will do my very best to make it happen.  If you have any props you would like included in your shoot, please bring them along with you!  Things like blankets, a family heirloom, a special toy or teddy bear, or even the family's furry members are all welcome!  Please tell me ahead of time if there will be a pet joining us for our session!
